A change in leadership is coming to the San Antonio Police Department. The city has chosen an acting chief to take over when the current chief steps down. This new leader has spent 26 years with the department and currently holds a high-ranking position.

The current chief had initially planned to retire at the end of September, but will now be leaving earlier. His replacement is someone he apparently holds in high regard.

Further information about the transition and the new acting chief can be found through news outlets.
